Maca, or Peruvian Ginseng, is a secondary adaptogen. A tonic, an aphrodisiac, and an antioxidant, is can help to balance blood sugar and is it is reputed to balance hormones, increase and support stamina and energy levels. It’s a powerhouse of micronutrients, trace vitamins and minerals. It has also been reputed as an immuno-stimulant.

How to use: Organic maca powder can be added to smoothies and juices – having a sweet caramel flavour means it pairs well with cacao and nut butter based smoothies. Sprinkled on porridge or muesli, added to hot drinks such as dandelion coffee or healthy lattes, although do not add boiling liquid as this depreciates the medicinal benefits. Maca makes a good addition to your diet if you are trying to give up refined sugars too.
