Cannellini Beans
Cannellini Beans are a versatile and nutritious addition to any pantry. These creamy white beans are a staple in Mediterranean cuisine and are perfect for soups, stews, salads, and more.
Why choose dried cannellini beans?
Superior flavour: Dried cannellini beans offer a richer, deeper flavour that enhances any dish. Cooking them from scratch allows you to infuse them with your favourite herbs and spices, too.
Better texture: When cooked, dried beans retain a firmer texture compared to their tinned counterparts, making them ideal for dishes where texture is key.
Cost-effective: Dried beans are typically more economical per serving, making them a budget-friendly choice for families and large gatherings.
Long shelf Life: Stored properly, dried beans can last for years in your pantry, giving you a reliable, long-term food supply.
Customisable: Soak and cook the beans to your preferred level of tenderness, and control the amount of salt added during cooking.
How to soak and cook dried cannellini beans:
Soak cannellini beans in water for 6-12 hours (they will expand so make sure your bowl is big enough!). Drain and rinse. Put cannellini beans in a large pan, cover with cold water, bring to the boil, scoop off any foam and boil for a further 10 minutes. Scoop the foam off again, then add a little salt and simmer gently for 1-2 hours, or until tender. Keep an eye on the water level, adding more if required.
How to store dried cannellini beans:
Orders will sent in paper bags (please reuse and recycle), but we recommend storing beans in an airtight container upon delivery. Once cooked, beans can be put out on a baking tray, frozen, and then stored in containers in the freezer.
